About Us

Geoff Pearman is an experienced manager, trainer and facilitator, recognised for his strategic and future thinking skills, his ability to initiate and implement complex organisational change and to develop innovative approaches to programme and service deliver

Geoff established Partners in Change® in 2009. He works part of his time with Child, Youth and Family where he leads a project aimed at building workforce capability. Projects include: retention strategies for an ageing workforce, new qualifications and tertiary education engagement, rethinking professional development, workplace capability planing.

Prior to this Geoff spent 14 years as a manager in the tertiary education sector. From 2007 – 2009 he worked for the Tertiary Education Commission as a stakeholder engagement manager working with stakeholders in the social services, education and community sectors.

Prior to this he worked at the University of Canterbury as Director of Continuing and Bridging Education managing the delivery of adult and community education, bridging education, professional short courses and international education programmes. This period was one of growth and innovation with new programme initiatives and local and international business development particularily in China.

From 1980 - 1995 he worked for Child, Youth and Family, first as a social worker, then for 10 years as a Regional Training Manager with responsibility for the South Island.

Geoff was a member of TEC Adult and Community Education Reference Group from 2002 – 2006 advising on the development of adult and community education. In 2005 he was awarded a fellowship to visit the USA and study stakeholder engagement between universities and their communities. In 2004 the department he led was a finalist in the NZTE export awards for innovation in international education. He has also been a recipient of the NZIM Crothall award.

The Staying On initiative which Geoff developed for Child, Youth and Family was a finalist in the HRINZ 2011 awards.
